the fire is burning
but wherefore

i keep searching
and found nothing
but the haze

am i too slow?
am i too stuborn?
or simply too lazy?

too distracted perhaps
by the fanciful things around me

trying to see
trying to hear
trying to learn

but never listening to what is within

heard but not listening

calm the mind
calm the soul
perhaps someday
i will learn to feel the right thing to do
